RA’s (Royal Ambassadors)
Director:  David O’Shields

Royal Ambassadors is a Bible-centered, church-based, Southern Baptist mission education organization for boys in grades 1-6.  Boys are divided into two age groups: LADS (grades 1-3) and Crusaders (grades 4-6). RA’s meet every Wednesday7pm to 8pm. We enjoy:
  • learning about mission activities around the world
  • praying for those in need
  • developing boy to boy and boy to men relationships.
RA’s Motto
We are ambassadors for Christ.  (II Corinthians 5:20)

The RA Motto not only gives the organization its name, but also gives the boys and leaders a lifestyle goal.

RA’s Pledge
As a Royal Ambassador, I will do my best: to become a well-informed, responsible follower of Christ; have a Christ-like concern for all people; to learn how to carry the message of Christ around the world; to work with others in sharing Christ; and to keep myself clean and healthy in mind and body.

Major goals of RA activities:
  • To educate boys in the Good News of Salvation
  • To educate boys in the means of conveying the message of Christ to others around the world
  • To give boys an opportunity to be involved in mission projects
  • To educate boys on healthy relationships with other boys
  • To educate boys in how Christian men live and behave
  • To educate Christian boys that they too can have fun
Upcoming 2010 RA Events:
  • Lottie Moon Mission Project: Wait tables for Wednesday night supper for tips for Lottie Moon
  • January Craft Project: RA Racers
  • Spring: Camping in the Blue Ridge Hills
