What if the crucifixion of Christ had occurred last Friday? What if you had been there to actually witness the horrors of the crucifixion? What if you had been present at the tomb to behold the resurrected Christ? Would it have made any difference in the way you live your life today? In the scripture we see the evidence of the crucifixion in the lives of the disciples. Each one who had run away when Christ was arrested (except John) boldly lived for Christ after the resurrection. They died proclaiming the resurrected Lord! The evidence of the resurrection was seen in the transformed lives of these men. They would not stop talking about Him. The same should be true with us today. We have the very same Holy Spirit alive within us today – the One Who came down on the Day of Pentecost. We have the witness of the disciples recorded in the Bible. And, yes, we have Christ living within up – “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20). The Apostle Paul went on to say, “and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” The great testimony of the resurrection is a Christian living a Christ-centered life. The greatest evidence of the resurrection to a watching world is Christ seen in the life of a truly committed and submitted Christian - Christ in a man!!
No wonder Paul would say – “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27!”
