Counterfeiting is a major problem in our society today.  Each year millions of dollars are lost due to counterfeit money.  Counterfeiting is effective because it looks and feels so much like the real thing, but it is not.  The same is true in religion.  There are many counterfeit beliefs in the world, but only one Truth.  And that one Truth, Jesus Christ, is revealed in the Bible.  The only way we can equip ourselves to identify counterfeit beliefs is to know the truth so intimately that the lie is easily exposed.  How do we do that?  By diligently studying God’s Word!  In II Timothy the Apostle Paul warned Timothy to hold to the Truth.  He wrote “study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”  Make a commitment to study God's Word faithfully so that you continue to grow in your relationship with your Lord as you grow in the Word.  Be prepared to expose Satan’s counterfeits.
